    Why are you doing this?
Good question!     The short answers are:   The desire for a bit of extra money and curiosity, in that order.

The long answers:   I am curious about how people respond to honesty.   I'm fed up with the false claims of web advertisers and Email spammers.   How will people respond to an honest pitch, especially when there is no promise of any return.   Soooo I am honestly asking you to send me money.   And I am honestly telling you that I promise nothing in return!   I also could use a little extra help about now.   Also, keep in mind that if it did not cost you anything your response would prove nothing.

    Do you really need money?
Define need.   I could really use a little more money.   Things are a very tight right now.   I have not had a full time job for several years, but I do manage to make ends meet.   I will not file for bankruptcy if you don't send money.   My lights will stay on.   I will not go hungry if you choose not to contribute.

What do you intend to do with the money?
I would like to tell you that I will be philanthropic and donate it all to charity, but that's not true.   I may very well give away some (even most) of the money contributed, but I make no promise or claim that I will.   I will probably spend it all on myself.   I may put some away for retirement.   I guess it depends on how much is contributed. (How's that for an honest answer?)

What do I get out out of this?
What you get out of donating money depends on you.   You might get nothing out of it!   Maybe you are the kind of person who gets a warm, fuzzy, feeling when you help someone.   Maybe you want something to tell your friends about.  If you think you will get something in return from me -- find another reason to donate.   Don't even expect a reply.   You may get one , but don't expect one.

Why should I send you money?
    Well, you maybe you shouldn't.
You might donate because you're a kind person who can, "spare a fiver"
You might contribute because you are curious about what will happen.
You might donate just because I was honest when I asked.
You might send me money because you got a chuckle of this site.
OR just because it would be a hoot -- Ahhhhhh, why not.

    What about my privacy?
Will my name be added to a mailing list?   NO! DEFIANTLY NOT!   This is the one promise I do make.   Any information you provide will not be sold, given away, or divulged in any way to anyone!   In fact, it is unlikely that I will even look at your individual information.   I am only interested in the statistics: How many contributors per time period.   And, of course, how much money I receive.

Can I claim a tax deduction?
NO!   I am not a non-profit corporation or company.   You could say that I am a non-profit person, but the IRS will not give you a tax deduction for the money you contribute to me.

    This is a joke, right?
This is not a joke, but if it made you smile that's great.   This is not a scam either.   I am very serious about this.   I would like you to send me some money.   I want to see how many people will donate with no promise of return just because they were honestly asked.   And I could use the money.
